After 10 incredible years of driving change and putting hope front and centre, the Oscar Knox Cup is ready to chip in one last time. This charity golf event has been par for the course in making a real impact in the fight against childhood cancer, raising over £200,000 for neuroblastoma research since its inception in 2016.
The 10th and final Oscar Knox Cup will take place on Friday 5th September 2025 at Fortwilliam Golf Club, bringing together supporters, celebrities, and local businesses for a day full of fun, generosity, and heartfelt remembrance of a little boy who touched the hearts of the nation.
Balloo Hire is proud to play a leading role in this final round, helping to keep the momentum rolling as teams tee up for a day of generosity, goodwill, and community spirit.
Kieran Carville, General Manager at Balloo Hire said:
"It’s been an absolute pleasure to be part of this charity event, that really goes the extra mile — or should I say extra yard? We’re tee’d up and ready to help make this final year a real winner for the children and families who need it most."
Oscar’s parents, Stephen and Leona Knox, said:
"This event has been a tremendous success. We never imagined how much Oscar’s golf day would drive awareness and support and we are blown away that it has raised over £200,000 in total for vital neuroblastoma research. We’re so grateful to everyone who has helped us through the tough times with kindness and generosity. It was a difficult decision to draw the event to a close, but we wanted to end it on a high rather than allowing it to fizzle out over time."
Last year’s event raised an impressive £27,333 for the Oscar Knox Fund, helping Solving Kids’ Cancer UK keep their research efforts on course. The day was packed with charity birdies — including a star-studded line-up featuring local golf enthusiasts in spirit: Northern Irish sports icons Carl Frampton and Michael Conlan, alongside Olympic gold medallist Rhys McClenaghan, who all helped drive the cause forward.
The charity auction on the night also scored big with prized items like a signed Carl Frampton fight worn glove, a signed Roy Keane Manchester United shirt and a signed Tom McKibbin limited edition Tour Bag — giving bidders a real chance to gain impressive prizes.
Every penny raised for the Oscar Knox Fund goes towards funding the most promising neuroblastoma research and helps children to access the best possible treatments. It’s a true fairway to hope - turning every shot into a chance to improve survival rates and quality of life for young patients and their families.
We would like to extend an invitation for everyone to the evening event/charity auction, where the community will come together to celebrate Oscar’s legacy with great company, entertainment, and heartfelt moments. If you can’t make it on the night but still would like to support - you can still putt your support forward by donating online:
